Your estimate
Fill in the form to see your estimated benchmark premium and premium tax credit.
This is an estimate, not advice. It is plain arithmetic on public figures. Your real premium and subsidy depend on your ZIP code, the plans actually available to you, tobacco use, and your final income. Get your official quote at HealthCare.gov, or talk to a licensed agent or navigator.
How the math works
- Benchmark premium. We take the second-lowest-cost silver plan (SLCSP) in your county from the CMS 2027 plan file and adjust it for each person's age with the federal default age curve. Only the three oldest children under 21 count.
- Your income as % of poverty line. 2027 coverage uses the 2026 HHS poverty guidelines: $15,960 for one person plus $5,680 for each additional person.
- Your expected contribution. The IRS 2027 table (Rev. Proc. 2026-26) sets it from 2.15% of income below 133% FPL up to 10.22% at 300–400% FPL, rising in a straight line within each band.
- Premium tax credit = benchmark − your contribution (never below $0). Above 400% FPL there is no credit in 2027.
What this doesn't model: Medicaid or Florida KidCare eligibility (children often qualify at higher incomes than adults), the Florida coverage gap below 100% FPL, cost-sharing reductions, tobacco surcharges, employer-coverage offers, ZIP-level plan differences inside a county, and the non-EHB share of premiums.
